What to Expect at ida
As a team lead, you’ll not only bring technical expertise to the table, but you’ll also be responsible for the organizational and operational management, as well as the strategic development, of our DevOps team. This means you ensure that infrastructure projects are addressed early on, planned in a structured manner, capacities are utilized effectively, and technical platforms are operated reliably.
In addition, you continuously work with the team to further develop our internal platforms and infrastructure processes.
In any case, you’ll work closely with the team and stay technically engaged with the systems without having to take on the bulk of the operational work yourself.
Of course, you’ll maintain an overview of ongoing infrastructure issues and ensure accountability and transparency.
You’ll also support your team in making technical decisions, ensuring that knowledge and responsibility are distributed effectively within the team.
As an experienced DevOps professional, you know that if we want to provide our clients with security, the occasional on-call duty is unavoidable. Responsibility for on-call duty is shared across the entire team.
Meaningful leadership: At ida, you’ll design infrastructure and platforms for major digital offerings from media companies, helping to ensure that journalistic products can be operated in a stable, scalable, and future-proof manner.
Meanwhile, you decide where you work. Remote or in the office? We can do both.
What you bring to the table
You have experience operating modern cloud and infrastructure platforms and have already taken on responsibility for technical teams, platforms, or infrastructure projects. This means you have extensive expertise in team management, capacity planning, and prioritization within technical projects.
Your strength: Bringing structure to complex, concurrent technical projects and effectively managing teams.
You’re also familiar with the operation of cloud and container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, GCP, or similar environments), have excellent Linux skills, a solid understanding of networking (DNS, routing, firewalls, Ingress/Egress), experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), automation (Ansible), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/OpenTofu).
Furthermore, you are familiar with agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban): You use them without letting them become an end in themselves.
And on top of all that, do you communicate clearly and in a structured way, explain technical topics in an understandable manner, and are you extremely solution-oriented? Great. We think that’s really, really good.
What’s particularly important to us
