The Technical Product Manager will contribute to Veracyte's success by leading the product strategy, development, and lifecycle management of enterprise platforms that support revenue, billing, reimbursement, medical coding, and order-to-cash processes.
This role centers on bridging technical and business needs to optimize workflow efficiency, data handoffs, and data integrity. In addition to core product management duties, the Technical Product Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, clinical, and analytics teams to deliver scalable, automation-driven solutions that enable accurate billing, faster reimbursement, and data-driven decision-making.
This role is a key contributor to Veracyte's broader digital transformation across revenue operations and intelligent automation.
This position is based out of the South San Francisco or San Diego office (hybrid) and we are open to remote (US).
Product Ownership & Strategy
Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization and ongoing grooming
Define, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps for new product development and sustaining activities
Act as the primary product decision-maker, balancing scope, value, risk, and technical constraints
Requirements & Planning
Lead scoping discussions and effort estimation exercises with engineering and cross-functional teams
Elicit, document, and manage requirements, translating user and business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Ensure requirements are well-defined, traceable, and aligned with overall product strategy
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with clinical, scientific, and business stakeholders to understand workflows, user needs, and success criteria
Collaborate closely with engineering, SQA, and operations teams to support design, development, and testing activities
Coordinate dependencies and resolve ambiguities to keep delivery on track
Delivery & Continuous Improvement
Support release planning, execution, and readiness, including defect triage and scope trade-off decisions
Monitor product outcomes and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement
Maintain clear product documentation and ensure shared understanding across teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products in healthcare or software integration
Strong experience supporting Salesforce-based ecosystems, billing platforms, revenue operations, or order-to-cash processes
Proven ability to work with financial, billing, and reimbursement workflows, including compliance-driven requirements
Experience in medical coding, with hands-on expertise in automation and integrations leveraging agentic AI
Strong technical proficiency, including understanding of APIs, data modeling, cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP), and software development lifecycle
Exposure to intelligent document processing, automated claims workflows, or revenue analytics solutions
Experience leveraging AI, machine learning, or rules-based automation to improve billing accuracy, reimbursement outcomes, or revenue forecasting
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, regulated industry
Salary Range:
South San Francisco office: $148,000 - $160,000
San Diego office: $138,000 - $150,000
Remote (US): $135,000 - $145,000
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
