We are seeking an experienced technical writer to support our world-class software engineering teams. This writer will collaborate closely with technical leads to enhance the developer experience and productivity through top-notch documentation. Responsibilities include creating developer-facing system documentation, product guides, reference materials, and e-learning content. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a proven ability to initiate projects and manage them to completion. Depending on their writing experience and technical expertise, the writer will also work alongside our engineers and technical program managers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate characteristics and experiences to include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience writing for software developers, electrical engineers, technical operators, quality assurance teams, safety engineers, and similar audiences.
  • Proven experience in producing, optimizing, and organizing written materials.
  • Experience with SDK or API documentation for a technical audience.
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Gitbook, XML, and Markdown.
  • Expertise with Mintlify and Confluence is highly desirable and would have an immediate impact.
  • A basic python understanding of programs and their outputs.

In this role, you will:

  • Write, edit, maintain, and enhance various content types, including knowledge base/help center articles, user guides, release notes, what’s new content, product how-tos, and tutorials.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing, Design and Engineering to recommend copy for all in-product screens, which extends to and is consistent with knowledge base articles
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leads to improve documentation processes, enhance discoverability, and manage long-term knowledge effectively.
  • Guide, motivate, and train engineering teams to adopt and adhere to documentation process improvements and maintenance practices that help generate documentation quickly.
  • Independently drive, manage, and prioritize multiple projects in a rapidly evolving environment where features are being shipped rapidly.
