Job Summary:
Reports to the Virtual Health inpatient Manager, the Telemetry Technician Coordinator (TTC) will assume responsibility for continuously observing and interpreting assigned ECG rhythm monitors and is a coach/mentor for telemetry technician associates. TTC serves as a role model for other clinical employees and promotes teamwork, integrity, and continuous practice improvement. The TTC ensures efficient flow of all patients and strives to always maintain exemplary service and satisfaction standards. Ensuring prompt, appropriate response and maintenance of alarms or ECG changes. The TTC will correctly identify and respond to basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact. The TTC will receive escalated rhythm change notifications from the Telemetry Technician based on established processes. Monitoring will take place from a centralized location. The TTC will be required to monitor multiple patients for the entirety of the shift. The TTC is a highly visible “go to” person that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, associates, providers, other members of the healthcare team and other visitors.As a member of the Virtual Health Team, the TTC must be able to operate on an interdisciplinary team and may be required to participate in other Virtual Health initiatives. Participation may include but is not limited to: providing guidance on care and best practices, piloting new initiatives, and/or working remotely as a member of the Virtual Team. The TTC may be required to leave centralized monitoring location and work on a specific hospital unit to interpret ECG rhythm as to not disrupt patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records – (EPIC).
- Perform various activities regarding telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continual cardiac monitoring. Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices
- Ensures complete and accurate information in the Electronic Health Record
- Document irregular rhythms and monitor changes in heartbeat.
- Communicates in an effective and professional manner with patients, providers, support employees, co-workers, and management.
- Contributes to the development of protocols, procedures, patient education, and training as assigned. Participates in peer review, quality assurance, and other committee functions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Appropriately processes admissions, transfers and discharge orders.
- Assist in the orientation of new telemetry technician personnel
- Provide support to manager, including: Assist manager with interviewing candidates for vacancies and make hiring recommendations to manager. Providing feedback to Manager on associate performance. Train and orient new employees. Coordinate schedules, workflow, and delegate assignments. Monitor performance and quality.
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Complete SEH/SEP ECG class and pass exam yearly minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: 3 years of applicable experience
Desired: Prior experience as a telemetry technician
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum: Must have a valid driver’s license for travel between sites.
Desired: Telemetry Technician Certification.
