Job Description

The Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a variety of learning programs under limited supervision. This includes web-based training for self-paced asynchronous and synchronous sessions. In addition, the Clinical Training Specialist identifies individual and group training needs and administers plans, procedures and programs to meet training needs and evaluate their effectiveness. The Clinical Training Specialist consults on the end-to-end onboarding journey for new hires and cross-training for tenured members of the clinical team (as appropriate). The role requires someone who can deal with ambiguity, thrive in a fast paced, data-driven, customer-centric environment, and leverage industry best practice instructional design and facilitation methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates multiple, simultaneous courses/programs effectively and efficiently.
  • Conducts and designs training for clinical staff that strengthen understanding of and use IH services and clinical care.
  • Utilizes a variety of training techniques/methods to meet the needs of a diverse learning population
  • Collaborates with colleagues to ensure high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of the business
  • Builds training using training data and feedback from previous cohorts
  • Maintains relationships with stakeholders and partners (people leaders, liaisons, clinical directors, etc.) with minimal direction from supervisors to support a smooth transition for trainees from the training environment to live casework
  • Acts as a SME for best practices in adult learning and training implementation.
  • Builds strong relationships with subject matter experts, ensuring the team and the SMEs get what they need in a timely mannerParticipates in or leads course audits and competency mapping
  • Quickly synthesizes and writes course content that follows industry best practices of instructional design, based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, and other sources
  • Skilled at the use of a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools and practices to ensure maximum learning effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, maintain and implement creative and innovative eLearning solutions (including course content, webinars, exams, simulations, and games) for role specific training using sound instructional design.
  • Keeps apprised, as much as possible within assigned service line, of changes in process, systems and guidelines to ensure new and existing materials are in-line and up-to-date with daily operations.
  • Follow projects through creation of curriculum through the entire life-cycle; development, QA, testing, production and related changes and enhancements.
  • Promotes a spirit of inquiry, the generation and dissemination of new knowledge, and the use of evidence to advance clinical education, guide clinical practice, and improve the quality of care for Included Health members.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSN or other equivalent 4-year degree with clinical license
  • Active and unrestricted state license or able to activate an expired license
  • At least 2+ years of clinical experience (RN preferred, other clinical types may qualify).
  • 1+ years of instructional design (or nursing education, learning design, instructional technology, learning and development or adult learning training); Certification or Master’s preferred.
  • Experience developing and conducting web based, blended and instructor-led training, including in asynchronous formats.
  • Experience with Medical or Clinical Terminology and with applying clinical criteria/guidelines.
  • Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, and strong facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to build relationships and trust with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating e-learning content with various authoring tools (i.e. MS Office: Word, Powerpoint, Excel; Google: Docs, sheets, slides, Articulate Rise or Storyline, Captivate/Camtasia, etc.
  • Experience designing training using ADDIE model or similar to address clinical quality or job performance data.
  • Ability to provide analytical, reporting and data analysis for training (statuses, efficacy, impacts, etc.).
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex processes and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, effectively solving complex problems by considering various options.
  • Effective under pressure, adept at managing deadlines and priorities.
The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:
$61,000 - $90,000 + equity + benefits
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.
Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data.
