EquipmentShare is Hiring a Transportation Acquisition Specialist

EquipmentShare is searching for an experience Transportation Acquisition Specialist to work alongside our Procurement team, DOT team and our Market Expansion team. This position would be responsible for the procurement of vehicles, trailers and equipment ranging from light duty pickups and vans to Class 8 trucks and trailers.

This role would ideally be based out of our Headquarters in Columbia, MO. Remote is a possibility, but would require heavy travel to Columbia, with overnight trips.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Transportation. Interacts frequently with multiple key stakeholders across Fleet Operations, Branch Operations, Procurement, Accounting, Service Operations and Business Analytics
  • Assist the Director of Transportation to annually forecast the procurement of work trucks, passenger vehicles and trailers
  • Manage annual CapEx budget of $100MM
  • Vehicles requiring up-fit; manage chassis allocation and transportation schedules between dealerships and up-fitting partners
  • Ensure all specifications meet D.O.T compliance
  • Allocate vehicles and trailers to EquipmentShare locations throughout the year
  • Responsible for the decommissioning and re-marketing of assets
  • Emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Possess the ability to calculate TCO and perform Life-cycle analysis
  • Ability to implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies related to the procurement of fleet assets
  • Partner with others to design and implement process and system updates in support of global initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience managing a large acquisition budget procuring D.O.T vehicles and trailers
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet specifications for all classes of work trucks, passenger vehicles and trailers
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with manufacturers, vendors and dealerships
  • Work cross-functionally across multiple departments
  • Experience with new process development, process improvement, and roll-out of company initiatives
  • Strong negotiation skills for contracts and agreements
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change
  • High level of integrity, trust and confidentiality required
