The Nitty Gritty:

We are seeking a talented UX/UI Design Lead to join our dynamic team focused on creating immersive and engaging video game experiences. As a UX/UI Design Lead, you will be responsible for crafting intuitive interfaces and seamless user experiences that enhance gameplay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for cross platform video games.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, game product managers, artists, and developers to understand gameplay requirements and translate them into functional and visually appealing UI designs.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate on UX/UI designs and improve player engagement.
  • Analyze metrics in partnership with data and game product management teams to evaluate the effectiveness of your designs and make improvements to optimize engagement, conversion rates and retention.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design for games, and integrate innovative solutions into projects.
  • Ensure consistency across all aspects of the game's UI, maintaining a high standard of quality and coherence.
  • Work within project timelines and milestones, delivering designs that meet both creative and technical requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role in the video game industry.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI design work for games, demonstrating creativity, usability, and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
    • Solid understanding of game design principles, including player psychology and interface ergonomics.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts and rationale to team members.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with 3D game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and their UX/UI capabilities.
    • Knowledge of animation principles and ability to create interactive prototypes.
    • Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices in UX/UI design.
    • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of different gaming genres and player expectations.
