Job Description

Forgotten Empires is a full-service game developer focused on Windows PC games. While headquartered in the U.S., our team consists of 90+ passionate individuals from around the globe, each of whom brings a unique skill set and perspective to the table. Since 2022 we are part of Keywords Studios.

We are currently looking to add an experienced VFX Artist. As a VFX Artist with us, you will use your exceptional real-time effect skills to help us to bring our games to realization. In return, you will be part of a creative and supportive team environment with the ability to have a direct impact on the development of top-tier games.

Are you up for the challenge?

Some of the cool stuff you'll be doing:

  • Execute outstanding and dramatic effects to life.
  • Creating all art needed for visual effects including FX concept, proto and final FX.
  • Executing on a range of visual effect styles from realistic to stylized.
  • Asset export and implementation into various engine: Custom (legacy), Unreal, etc.
  • Working with multidisciplinary team to ensure QA and problem solve as needed.

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • A strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing proficiency in creating real-time visual effects for video games (**must submit to be considered**)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience creating real-time VFX in the gaming industry
  • Proven expertise with the industry-standard tool: Houdini
  • Critical eye for timing, animation, motion, real-time physics, fluid systems and familiarity with the art pipeline in game engines
  • B2-C1 English level – conversational and written
  • Any Technical Art experience is a huge plus!
  • Professional VFX or personal player experience with strategy games is a plus
  • Experience with PopcornFX is a plus!

Location: Must be local to Málaga, Spain or working remotely in UK/EU (EU time zones required)
