The Role:

Ascenda is looking for an entrepreneurial and tech-loving VP of Corporate Marketing to take the helm as head of marketing for the company.

This role leads a global team of talented marketing, product and in-house creative professionals. It has full ownership of the Ascenda brand, corporate web & social media presence, public relations, content marketing strategy, demand generation, performance marketing and the Ascenda.com website.

Desired Outcomes

Success will be measured by metrics including the following:

  • Brand awareness & recognition in key target markets, particularly the US

  • Number of new client and partner leads generated through marketing activities (MQLs)

  • Cost per lead

  • Lead conversion rate

Requirements

  • Lead the global development & execution of Ascenda’s marketing strategy to elevate the company’s position as recognized rewards infrastructure provider in key segments including traditional banks, fintechs, and major merchants.

  • Drive demand generation, lead generation, and performance marketing initiatives to fuel customer acquisition and revenue growth.

  • Attract and develop a global team of talented marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, ownership, supportive collaboration and radical simplicity.

  • Elevate the calibre of Ascenda’s brand and content across all channels, including the corporate website and social media.

  • Collaborate with other functions to drive alignment of messaging and branding across all client touchpoints.

  • Provide strategic guidance and insights to the Ascenda senior leadership team on market trends, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

  • Establish and track KPIs measuring brand awareness & recognition, lead generation, cost per lead, and lead conversion

Candidate Profile:

This leader has a proven track record of scaling marketing functions for B2B SaaS businesses as they grow rapidly in the $50m to $500m revenue range, particularly those offering complex or enterprise-level solutions, ideally within the financial services ecosystem. Given Ascenda’s global footprint, international marketing exposure is essential.

Candidates should bring a strong creative aptitude with the ability to lead the hands-on development of compelling marketing concepts and narratives.

Personal Characteristics

  • 15+ years in B2B marketing, building the teams and marketing strategies for modern technology companies - including significant B2B SaaS experience.

  • Familiarity with the financial services ecosystem, ideally gained within infrastructure companies offering complex or enterprise-level solutions.

  • Demonstrated success in driving international marketing initiatives and expanding company visibility beyond country borders.

  • Strong creative abilities with a passion for getting hands-on with marketing concepts and narratives.

  • Supportive people leadership with the ability to inspire and grow cross-functional teams.

  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on and high-energy

  • Naturally curious, keen to learn, always on top of industry trends

  • Excited by ambitious goals, rapid growth and breaking new ground

  • Low ego, high EQ

  • Structured thinker and communicator who presents ideas in a simple, actionable manner
