We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Legal to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a professional with deep legal expertise who excels in a quickly developing, complex, international business environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing legal guidance across our group of companies. The work will imply the most recent applications of laws to the area of AI, with a respective area of AI Assistants being the core of our strategy.
What you will do
Lead and manage a team of 7 legal professionals, providing direction and development (with the potential for team increase)
Report to the Group’s Chief Operating Officer
Effectively execute corporate transactions, including financing (equity/debt), M&A, restructuring
Thoroughly cover all matters related to data privacy and IP protection
Implement legal compliance and risk management strategies across the organization
Establish uninterrupted legal administration and automation processes
Collaborate with different departments to deliver shared legal services to subsidiaries
Provide expert advice on various law applications in an international business context, coordinating both internal teams and external consultants
Ensure quality of legal support suitable for that of a pre-IPO company
Engage in strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level
We expect that you have
Minimum of 10 years of Post-Qualified Experience
- Experience in a senior or leadership role in a tech startup/scaleup company
Demonstrated experience in legal consulting with complex capital transactions
Proven track record in an international business setting
Proven ability both to execute complicated one-off legal tasks and maintain efficient routine legal workflow
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law
Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
Beneficial skills
Experience in a diversified holding company and/or an institutional VC/PE fund
Experience in dealing with data privacy laws, such as GDPR
Experience with a shared legal services business model
Fluency in Russian (both spoken and written)
