About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Vice President of Demand Generation who will report to the CMO, and lead field marketing, global events marketing, partner marketing, and digital demand generation teams. In this role, you will be responsible for global demand generation and ABM strategies, orchestrating the execution of digital, account-based, field marketing programs, and industry events to drive our pipeline generation efforts to drive new customer logo growth and customer expansion opportunities. The candidate must demonstrate the capability to drive the marketing strategy from vision to execution. S/he should thrive in a demanding, quick turnaround environment where change and transformation are a daily reality. Must have experience in managing budgets effectively across multiple departments, setting up effective metrics and business processes. The candidate must be data driven, outcome focused and possess a strong orientation in driving change management and transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and scale a high-performing global demand generation team of 25+ to drive pipeline growth, new customer acquisition, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
  • Own the pipeline number working with the extended marketing team to define the growth plan, channel mix, data & analytics for LaunchDarkly to drive net new and expansion leads across all segments
  • Drive all digital demand generation channels including SEM, paid social, webinars, paid sponsorships, SEO and integrated campaigns.
  • Create strategies to drive field marketing and in region revenue, working closely with regional sales leadership, to ensure campaigns are amplified and targeted to the region.
  • Oversee the global events strategy to drive brand awareness, customer upsell and loyalty and deliver net new leads and opportunities.
  • Build an outbound marketing strategy and ABM framework aligned with sales objectives.
  • Work with the Partner team to develop a partner marketing strategy to engage, educate and activate partners to develop co-strategies to support global campaign and revenue goals and deliver SQL pipeline
  • Build a culture of constant testing and optimization to improve channel performance and ROI metrics.
  • Work cross functionally to drive alignment amongst marketing, sales, and supporting go-to-market teams.
  • Interlock with regional teams to ensure alignment on priorities and planning, adjusting as required by sales segment, changing market conditions, and emerging opportunities
  • Align with Brand, Content, Growth and Product Marketing teams to ensure consistent branding and differentiated messaging based on buyer personas and target segments

Qualifications:

  • Well-rounded marketer with proven ability to build and deploy robust multi-channel go-to-market plans with demonstrated growth and success
  • Proven ability to lead a Demand Gen team of at least 5 direct reports
  • Ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture, weaving demand plans into the global marketing plan.
  • Superior communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans
  • Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind
  • Self-starter exhibiting agility with ability to thrive in a test, learn, optimize environment
  • Proven demonstration of pipeline growth and lead generation
  • Proven ability to lead a mid-size team and develop talent
  • Experience in SAAS and/or developer tooling
  • Prior success leading teams through market expansion and periods of high growth and rapid change
  • Experience in a successful startup or emerging growth technology company that markets to developers is an asset
  • Organized with strong time management, and project management skills
  • Agile self-starter, with a growth mindset
  • Results focused with strong prioritization skills and “win as a team” mentality

Pay:

Target pay range for this role in San Francisco/Bay Area: $215,000 - $290,000*

*Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
