As a Web Application Developer, you will utilize your expertise to design, implement, and maintain applications that facilitate data-driven decision-making processes. This is a remote position, requiring you to work a 9 am - 5 pm EST schedule.
Position Description:
Ardent is seeking a Web Application Developer. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the development and enhancement of web-based applications that empower our clients to visualize, analyze, and interpret geospatial data effectively.
In addition, you will collaborate with other team members, project sponsors, and government personnel to devise practical solutions to problems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy web-based applications.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop scalable solutions to meet project objectives.
- Integrate functionalities into web applications, including mapping, geocoding, spatial analysis, and visualization.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of applications.
- Stay abreast of emerging application technologies and industry trends to enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in web development.
- Proficiency programing languages and frameworks (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or PHP, as well as experience with relevant frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.js, or Django)
- Understanding of Web Development Principles and Technologies (Web development principles, including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and browser compatibility issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and Debugging skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience working in the Continuous Development Lifecycle.
