Remote: This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

Work is primarily focused on website cleanups, but the role requires knowledge on Programming (mostly PHP), to understand how pieces of code could be used maliciously, Content Management System (CMS) to understand its structure and how attackers take advantage of that and much more. Every ticket or interaction we have with our clients is not only an opportunity to help their business prosper and succeed but also learn a different skill along the way during the cleanup process.

What you'll get to do...

  • Website cleanup and troubleshooting (this role will resolve customer issues through support tickets)
  • Process malware removal requests by following a trained process, checklist, and workflow while also demonstrating strong customer service skills
  • Code reading to determine if a particular file is malicious or not
  • Encouraging our system with new findings to improve our automation process
  • Solving customers' websites with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and other CMS software
  • Work across teams to review data and produce security specific content for sharing

Your experience should include...

  • Good understanding of security principles and best security practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve variety of technical issues that arise with different CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla, Magento)
  • Experience with cPanel/WHM and other control panels
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments. Good understanding of the file system management and manipulation (view, copy, move, find, edit, permissions/ownership, symlinks)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP and firewalls)
  • Understanding of Web Malware and ability to perform basic decoding using online tools
  • Ability to inspect elements to detect malware rendering on websites
  • Ability to read/understand code (JavaScript, PHP) to be able to determine what the snippet of code is attempting to do
  • Strong critical, analytical and investigative skills; ability to gather information, analyze facts and draw conclusions
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to find and decode multi-step obfuscated malware
  • Write PHP snippets & Shell Scripts
  • Windows Web Stack (IIS, SQL Server, ASP.NET) experience
  • Read and Write Regex
  • Database Management experience
  • Experience with advanced command line tools (tracing processes, advanced search and replace commands)
