Company: Respiris.com
Founder and Visionary: Angel Cruzado
About the Company
Respiris, founded and led by Angel Cruzado, is a managed marketplace similar to Fiverr, Uber, AirBnB, and Empowerly. We have redefined outplacement assistance and career transition services, with a mission to provide personalized support to individuals who have lost their jobs.
Our core values are Community, Deep Empathy, and Artificial Intelligence. Guided by a philosophy of empathy and innovation, we support companies during challenging times when they need to transition employees to align with their mission, vision, or strategies.
We are seeking a Part-Time / Fractional Founding Business Development Representative (BDR). We have a minimum viable product, strong client testimonials, and have pressure-tested our sales and marketing at Transform in March 2024. Additionally, we work with companies that consistently refer to us, including those backed by investors from Madrona, Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, and Sapphire Ventures.
Our Co-Founder has served as the Head of Human Resources for multiple venture-backed and private equity companies, including those funded by Salesforce Ventures, Goodwater Capital, Scrum Ventures, Tapestry, and Mighty Capital.
With over 5,000 applications received for our job search coach positions, we are poised to redefine the $3.1 billion outplacement assistance industry, which is growing at a compounded annual rate of 18%.
Our job search coaches provide career transition services and personalized coaching, utilizing the Respiris Method to offer strategic job search assistance. We don’t coach to the resume or LinkedIn profile. Instead, we focus on what we internally call the “career prayer.” This involves helping individuals manifest, declare, and set realistic goals in alignment with their purpose.
About the Role
As the Founding Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our sales strategy. This unique opportunity allows you to work directly with the Co-Founders in Marketplace Operations and Marketing to develop sales templates, build a robust sales infrastructure, and leverage the Co-Founders' network to establish key meetings and relationships.
This position requires someone who can over communicate effectively, has keen attention to detail, and understands the human resources space. You will work with Chief People Officers, Chief Legal Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and other senior executives in establishing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). Additionally, you will collaborate with the Co-Founders to enable our go-to-market strategies, supporting the acquisition of new clients and the retention of existing ones.
We value our deep relationships and focus on augmenting our Chief People Officers with Fractional Recruiter and HRBP support when the timing makes sense.
The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, the ability to act like a co-founder, and a blend of theoretical intelligence and practical, scrappy street smarts. You should be well-educated, capable of harnessing the power of SaaS, AI, and Community to drive results, and possess deep empathy to connect genuinely with clients and team members.
The goal of this role is to support the Founder Sales strategy, not to initially lead presenting. Therefore, humility is essential as we are in the Founder Sales Stage. Depending on your results, this role could transition to a full-time based role responsible for leading the sales growth engine to support transitions.
The role demands polish, exceptional sales professional hygiene, and the ability to work in the PST time zone. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, has a proactive approach, and is looking to return to the workforce after maternity leave or other career breaks.
