HALO is a global NGO addressing the impact and drivers of conflict in 30 countries and territories, employing over 8,000 staff, primarily local employees. The organization's primary mission is to clear landmines and explosive remnants of war that threaten lives and livelihoods in post-conflict regions. HALO also assists those affected by active conflict and endemic violence, securing weapons and ammunition while working with state and community actors to reduce armed violence prevalence. Operating in some of the world's most fragile places, HALO addresses human suffering caused by armed violence through humanitarian demining and violence reduction initiatives.
