The agency is dedicated to supporting workers, strengthening communities, and promoting economic stability across the Commonwealth by providing customer-centered, accessible, and inclusive services.

VEC is also spearheading Virginia's historic initiative to become the first state in the South to offer Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), expanding the support available to employees during critical moments.

The agency conducts administrative hearings, processes unemployment insurance appeals, and maintains the integrity of the benefits system while serving unemployed workers across the state.
