Job Description

Sigma Defense is seeking a creative individual to join our team as a 3D Modeler. As a 3D Modeler, you will take a role in developing 3D assets for AR/VR and mixed reality systems that will help Navy sailors improve their situational readiness in high-fidelity training simulations. You will be responsible for creating realistic 3D digital twins of real-world objects and environments that are used in an AR/VR space. You will also be involved in creating lightweight, high-fidelity 3D game assets and animations for use in an AR/VR multiplayer application. You must be able to work closely with the customer to understand their vision and turn it into reality.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience with 3D modeling tools and software, including, but not limited to Blender and or Maya.
  • Understanding of rendering, texturing, shaders, lighting, and animation principles.
  • Ability to create materials and optimized surface shaders.
  • Experience with virtual reality and/or augmented reality hardware (Meta Quest, Hololens).
  • Experience with data collection i.e. photogrammetry software, photography, 3D scanning.
  • Proven experience creating digital twins of real-world objects and spaces for use in gaming applications.
  • Unity game development knowledge of interfaces, tools, and capabilities is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize 3D modeling, texture, mapping, and other techniques to create game assets, visual effects, and animations that are optimized for Unity game engine or equivalent.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
