We are growing fast and are looking for an Analyst Developer to join our Educational Solutions team! Fully flexible and working from anywhere in the APAC region, this role will be offered as a permanent role in Australia or Indonesia or as a Contractor anywhere else - just let us know where you are when you apply!

What your new team and job can look like…

This role sits in our global Educational Solutions team who are dedicated to designing, building and maintaining the world’s leading LMS, used by millions of users in some of the largest and most respected educational institutions in the world.

With the pace and global nature of Moodle, no two days will ever be the same, but most days in this role usually involve a mix of:

  • Using an agile approach to deliver new releases of Moodle.
  • Writing high quality code, conforming to Moodle coding guidelines.
  • Writing automated and manual tests and performing accessibility testing.
  • Fixing reported bugs.
  • Participating in product discovery and development of major new platform features.
  • Taking a lead role in projects and defining technical specifications, architecture and design for new features.
  • …. all while taking into account the end-user experience of course!

Requirements

We'd love to meet you…

Especially if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a large-scale development environment.
  • Strong PHP programming skills, along with a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript and Ajax.
  • Strong knowledge of databases and SQL - ideally MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of performance, object oriented principles, design patterns and security.
  • Experience in requirements analysis and producing technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex development concepts for non experts.
  • An ability to thrive in a diverse, global environment and build strong, positive relationships with team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as be a strong team player who contributes to overall team goals and projects.
