Job Description

The successful candidate will be auditing staff work, calculating productivity, attending meetings, presenting information to staff, taking meeting minutes, creating/updating QRGs, answering staff questions, making timecard edits for staff, approving/denying PTO, and miscellaneous other tasks that may come up.

Assists in operations oversight of HIMS Completion, Compliance, and Escalation teams. Supports leadership by assisting as knowledge experts in the Epic Plummer Chart and documentation requirements based on internal policies, The Joint Commission standards, Federal/State and CMS regulations. Directs work assignments for onsite staff and teleworkers based on daily workloads. Collaborates with other departments to resolve workflow or technical issues. Performs staff quality audits and monitors productivity data, giving feedback and coaching as needed. Approves bi-weekly payroll and approval of PTO requests. Orients new staff and ensures ongoing competency. Prepares agendas and minutes for work unit huddles. Assists with statistical data for providers and leadership. Reviews and edits written resources and training materials. Partners with Supervisors to meet work unit goals and escalate issues requiring leadership attention.

Provides oversight of daily operations and staff within the work unit to support the institution and departmental directives. Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound problem-solving skills. Supports continuous improvement efforts and quality improvement techniques. Suggests enhancements to workflow, productivity, shift changes and daily operations. Assists with statistical data for providers and leadership. May attend meetings on site or remotely as necessary with physicians, colleagues and allied health personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

This Position is 100% Remote can work from anywhere within the United States

High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum of two years of health information experience required. Assistant Supervisors that work within HIMS Operations are required to have an Associate degree in a health care field or business with the required experience. In Documentation Services, experience with dictation, computer and transcription equipment is required.

Excellent customer service skills. None. Applicable AHIMA, HIMSS, AHDI, CHDS and RHDS credentials preferred.

RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
