Providence is calling a Associate Coder who will work remotely within our footprint states, AK, CA, OR, WA, TX, NM, or MT.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Completion of Medical Terminology and A&P (approved).
  • Coursework/Training Enrollment in an AHIMA-accredited Health Information Technology program or online coding program.
  • Proven history of proactively identifying, resolving and escalating issues that impact business and documentation outcomes.
  • Track record showing good decision-making skills based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Track record in organizing and planning with demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree Health Information Technology.
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of an AHIMA-accredited Health Information Technology program or self-study course and a passing score on the national certification examination for RHIA or RHIT.
  • upon hire: AAPC or AHIMA coding-related credential.
  • 1 year HIM background/experience or equivalent experience working in health care setting or clerical/office setting.
  • Epic experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
