Position Summary:

Platform.sh is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team. If you have a passion for data and a talent for storytelling, this opportunity is for you.

In this dynamic role, you will be a data detective, uncovering valuable insights from across the organization. You will work with partners and stakeholders across the company - including Executives, Finance, Data, FinOps, Marketing, and Sales - to build robust analyses, craft compelling reports and dashboards, and translate complex data into actionable stories that drive strategic decision-making.

The role reports directly to our Director of FPA.

What to expect:

• Turn data into decisions: Leverage your data analysis skills to extract actionable insights that inform and support strategic decision-making. We have the data - you'll be the key to unlocking its potential!
• Master data visualization: Create executive-level dashboards that integrate a wide range of data (financial, operational, marketing, sales, etc.) to tell impactful stories.
• Requirements gathering and analysis: Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis to capture business requirements.
• Stakeholder communication and collaboration: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and IT teams. Ensure clear and continuous communication to align business needs with technical solutions.
• Solution design and validation: Develop functional specifications, use cases, and user stories. Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions that meet business requirements.
• Analytics reporting: Build a robust library of analyses to identify trends, assess risk, and uncover opportunities.
• Ensure data integrity: Partner with data engineers to develop and maintain data collection processes, ensuring data quality and accuracy.

What you bring:

• Data fluency: Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools - you have the ability to bring data to life!
• Enthusiastic problem solver: Strong analytical and problem solving skills - you crack codes and find solutions with a smile.
• Communication extraordinaire: You are a storyteller, captivating your audience with clear and concise data narratives.
• Academics and experience: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) equips you with the necessary foundation. You also possess experience in finance, business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar field.
• Attention to detail: A meticulous eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional, global teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Technical proficiency: Familiarity with data engineering concepts and the ability to partner with data engineers.
• Documentation and training ability: Strong writing skills to create comprehensive documentation and training materials.
• Project management acumen: Ability to assist in planning, executing, and monitoring projects, tracking progress, and reporting on status.
