Our client, CMBlu Energy, Inc. has pioneered the field of flow batteries based on organic/carbon electrolytes. Thier technology aims to be the choice for safe, sustainable, and secure commercial & industrial and utility-scale energy storage.

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to assist in driving the commercialization of C&I and utility-scale energy storage projects, starting at 1-2 MW/10MWh.

This mid-level position offers the chance to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on advancing our presence and partnerships across the Americas.

With a hybrid work model, you will have the flexibility to work remotely and, in the Petaluma, CA office, in a dynamic and supportive work environment. Remote candidates must live near a major airport.

Tasks

  • Continuing to bring the brand and messaging to market, while also educating potential customers on the innovative technology
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine and execute business development strategies, including market positioning and go-to-market plans
  • Generating and pursuing new business opportunities for energy storage projects, including market analysis, lead generation, and strategic prospecting
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, developers, and government agencies, to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of proposals and presentations
  • Monitoring industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and risks in the energy storage industry
  • Providing reporting and analysis of business development activities, including pipeline management, revenue forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Representing the company at industry conferences, events, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and build relationships within the renewables industry, specifically within the storage sector

Requirements

  • Technical, business, or related degree required; MBA or equivalent is a plus
  • Energy Storage experience required
  • Previous work experience in business development, sales, or account management, specifically in the renewable energy sector preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth, achieving targets, and cultivating strategic partnerships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation skills, and interpersonal abilities
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively with willingness to work outside of 9 – 5 hours to collaborate with European team members
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a hybrid remote/in-office environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and ability to travel internationally as needed
