Job Description

We are seeking a certified ServiceNow engineer for a 100% work-from-home freelance contract role. This is a 3-month project with an expected workload of 30 hours per week. Candidates can be located anywhere in the Americas except Venezuela or Cuba.

Rate: $20-30 per hour (depending on experience, location, and certifications)

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one of the following certifications:
    • Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist Security Incident Response
    • Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist Vulnerability Response
  • Experience with ServiceNow Security Operations (SecOps) modules, including Security Incident Response (SIR) and Vulnerability Response (VR)
  • Knowledge of common integrations for SIR (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike) and VR (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7)
  • Familiarity with setting up and configuring integrations between ServiceNow and SIEM/vulnerability scanning tools
  • Understanding of ServiceNow capabilities such as business rules, system properties, dictionary entries, client scripts, UI actions, UI policies, and dictionary overrides
  • Experience with GlideRecord and its use cases for querying, inserting, updating, and deleting records
  • Proficiency in server-side and client-side scripting in ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of script includes and fix scripts, and when to use each
  • Fluency in oral and written English at the C1 or C2 level

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining ServiceNow SecOps modules (SIR and VR)
  • Set up and troubleshoot integrations with SIEM and vulnerability scanning tools
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow scripts, business rules, and other automation components
  • Perform data manipulation and correction tasks using fix scripts
  • Collaborate with the project team to understand requirements and provide solutions
  • Ensure proper security practices and access controls are implemented
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer as needed
