About the Role:

This role is supporting Andela's Chief Talent Officer, whose primary focus is on cultivating exceptional talent within our talent marketplace and leading our Talent Assessment, Acquisition, Matching, Experience, and Partnerships teams.

Ensuring that we consistently deliver top-notch talent experiences, the Chief of Staff (CoS) is a critical role that combines strategic leadership and operational excellence to be a trusted advisor. This role amplifies the team’s effectiveness by executing special projects, investigating departmental challenges, drafting strategic growth plans, and leading cross-functional initiatives.

The CoS will work closely with the Chief Talent Officer to optimize business operations and ensure cohesive implementation of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Talent Officer, understanding and implementing the vision and strategy for the Talent Management team.

  • Develop and maintain a KPI dashboard to track team performance and progress on key initiatives.

  • Conduct research and analysis to support informed decision-making by the Chief Talent Officer.

Operational Excellence:

  • Optimize business operations and strategies to enhance the Chief Talent Officer’s effectiveness.

  • Manage ad-hoc requests from the Chief Talent Officer, including calendar conflicts and scheduling, ensuring seamless administrative support.

  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Chief Talent Officer, ensuring thorough follow-up and communication.

Project Execution:

  • Execute special projects that address departmental challenges and improve operational efficiency.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned across departments for cohesive implementation.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with project leaders.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Independently query data warehouses and analyze metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Create detailed reports and presentations for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

Organizational Support:

  • Help the Chief Talent Officer and the Talent Network team stay organized and accountable, ensuring alignment on key objectives and deadlines.

  • Provide objective analysis and recommendations on various challenges, maintaining a clear and unbiased perspective.

Communication and Storytelling:

  • Manage critical communications and create presentations for diverse audiences, clearly articulating the team’s goals, achievements, and challenges.

  • Support the Chief Talent Officer in preparing for business reviews, ensuring the narrative is consistent, accurate, and compelling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Data Science, or a related field or related experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in a consulting role, Chief of Staff, or a similar capacity.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently query and analyze data.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a talent for storytelling.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proactive and self-driven, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle challenges head-on.

  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Experience with data visualization tools and software (e.g., Looker, SQL) is a plus.
