About the Role:
We are seeking a Clinical Researcher who will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to improve speech-language therapy outcomes through innovative research. This position involves designing, conducting, and analyzing research studies specifically focused on speech-language pathology. This role will collaborate closely with our team of clinicians and data specialists to ensure that our research efforts align with our clinical initiatives and enhance our therapy programs. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in research methodology and statistical analysis, with a strong understanding of speech-language disorders and the unique challenges faced by our clients. The role will also be responsible for presenting research findings to internal teams and stakeholders, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and evidence-based practice at Expressable.
What you would be doing at Expressable (essential functions)
- Design and implement research studies in alignment with the practice’s goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists and other healthcare professionals to identify research opportunities.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data using appropriate statistical methods.
- Prepare research proposals, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and publications.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in research activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of research projects and report findings to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in speech-language pathology research and practices.
- Assist in the development of grant proposals to secure funding for research initiatives.
What you bring to Expressable
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in clinical research, preferably in the healthcare or speech-language pathology sector.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.
- Deep domain knowledge of language sample analysis techniques, including transcription, analysis of morphosyntactic structures, speech/language sampling protocols, and proficiency in interpreting results within the context of clinical speech-language pathology.

- Ethical and Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with ethical considerations and regulatory requirements in clinical research with the ability to ensure research adheres to institutional and legal guidelines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for presenting research findings to diverse audiences and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports, grant proposals, and manuscripts.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with the ability to build relationships with clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions with strong critical thinking skills to evaluate research methodologies and outcomes.
