LMI is seeking a Cloud Engineer SME (Azure) to support activities for a United States Army client developing next generation command and control (C2) capabilities.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.    

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluating cloud-based technical solutions/designs in accordance with client requirements 
  • Provide architectural guidance for infrastructure and cloud-native applications.
  • Administer and monitor IL5/IL6 cloud accounts and performance levels 
  • Responsible for client’s overall cloud experience, including being the engineering point-of-contact for resolving reported performance or delivery issues 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all vendor cloud solutions comply with industry and Government-mandated security protocols, controls, and best-practices 
  • Work closely with Cybersecurity resources to document controls, support accreditation, Interim Authorization to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and provide metrics to comply with audits 
  • Responsible for escalating issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the appropriate levels for clarification and resolution 
  • Build parent and child accounts or organizations within an IL5/IL6 environment 
  • Establish and maintain a working knowledge of AWS & Azure products and capabilities 
  • Perform unsupervised, hands-on work in DoD based cloud environments 
  • Work independently within team environments to set up and maintain cloud architectures 
  • Manage multiple and competing customer priorities with little supervision 
  • Develop High Availability and Disaster Recovery processes in accordance with government and industry guidelines 
  • Help establish DevSecOps Pipelines within the Gov Cloud Framework using infrastructure-as-code. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, or related technical discipline 
  • Minimum 5-years of hands-on experience in designing, executing, and supporting Azure environments  
  • Experience with maintaining hybrid cloud solutions 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Expert level knowledge of Linux command line 
  • Expert level knowledge of cloud & hybrid networking solutions 
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) 
  • Experience with security requirements in a federal IT environment, including FedRAMP-certified providers and FISMA requirements for acquiring an ATO 
  • Demonstrated Azure Gov Cloud experience 
  • Experience with Agile and containerization methodologies or strategies 
  • Knowledge IDAM requirements and technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC.
  • Experience using and implementing Gitlab. 
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Sec+ or other) 
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

  • Master’s degree in related field 
  • Top Secret security clearance 
  • Experience working in IL6 or equivalent secure environments 
  • Agile certifications 
  • Experience with Cross-Domain Solutions (IL5 / IL6) 
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Experience architecting and deploying cloud-based solutions for the US Army 
  • Knowledge of US Army communications and current digital solutions
