Content Development Specialist – Learning and Development
Location: Remote work available to qualified candidates in the US. Ideally, candidates will be located in the Eastern or Central Time zone.

The Content Development Specialist supports Bentley’s internal learning and development efforts by creating comprehensive, high-quality content that aligns with our organizational priorities, values, and actions.
Reporting to the Manager, Colleague Experience within Colleague Success (HR), this position is responsible for researching, developing, and organizing content that will be used to build impactful learning experiences for colleagues. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to identify learning needs, build engaging content, and ensure seamless execution of L&D programs. By working closely with subject matter experts and integrating our company context, the Content Development Specialist ensures that all content is not only accurate and engaging but also reflective of our company culture, driving both colleague growth and organizational success.
Your Day to Day:
- Create in-depth, engaging, and relevant content on various topics that align with our company’s learning initiatives and priorities, including written materials, curriculums, and scenario-based content.
- Support the creation and execution of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of our colleagues and leaders.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to align content with broader learning initiatives and company priorities.
- Ensure learning content is rooted in Bentley's context and culture, reflecting our priorities, and purpose, mission, values, and actions to make learning experiences more relevant and impactful for colleagues.
- Assist in developing content for colleague onboarding, managers, leadership development programs, and company-wide L&D initiatives.
- Adapt learning content to be inclusive and relevant for a diverse, global audience, taking into account cultural differences and language needs.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to extract and validate critical information and ensure content relevance and accuracy.
- Review and edit learning content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational standards and goals.
- Facilitate interviews or focus groups with subject matter experts to integrate their insights and expertise effectively into the content.
- Organize content into clear, logical formats that instructional designers can easily utilize to create engaging learning materials.
- Integrate company-specific examples, terminology, and scenarios to make content more relatable and impactful for colleagues.
- Manage content development timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.
What you Bring to the Team:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a global company in a Learning and Development capacity having ownership of curriculum and content development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, I/O Psychology, Organizational Development, or another related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in content/curriculum development, writing, or a similar role.
- Strong research skills and ability to synthesize information from various resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to shift between collaboration and independent work, seek feedback from multiple stakeholders, and make course corrections as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance time accordingly.
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
- This role does not require travel though travel may be optional, up to 10% of the year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strongly prefer L&D experience in a technology company
- Strongly prefer L&D experience in a public company
- Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Canva, and Vyond).
- Familiarity with learning platforms such as Degreed, Workday Learning, SuccessFactors Learning, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
