Contract Graphic Designer

About the role:

Are you a Graphic illustrator and designer with a background in Mathematics? We are looking for contract designers to create beautiful, accurate and consistent graphics to demonstrate mathematical concepts to help intermediate and high-school students love Maths.

We are currently working on Mathematics lessons for Grades 6 to 10 in Ontario, Canada.

As a contract Graphic Designer you will respond to graphics requests to enhance our online lessons. For this project, there will be a focus on 2D and 3D Geometry as well as graphs and diagrams. We will provide a style guide, Illustrator templates and reusable assets. You will be creating graphics using Adobe Illustrator and the Desmos Graphing calculator and uploading them to the Education Perfect platform.

Employment will be contract-based (20 hours a week for 7 weeks) and we are able to offer $35 an hour NZD.

What you will do:

• Create a high volume of maths-specific images based on specific requests.
• Commit to a certain number of image assets produced each week.
• Work closely with the design team to ensure high quality and consistent output.
• Track your progress using Jira.
• Clearly communicate any barriers or blockers to reaching your targets.

About You:

• Experience creating mathematically accurate illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience using a content management system to load, resize and display images.
• A good understanding of slide layouts and composition for image layouts.
• The ability to work quickly and accurately to respond to specific image requests.
• Track and manage your work using project management software (Jira).
• Highly adaptable and agile approach, with the ability to deliver quality results.
• Nice to have: working knowledge of Demos, understanding of WCAG accessibility standards for images
