- Lead Engineers working with the engineering teams to build products and/or infrastructure required to support the products at scale.
- Make sure that the technology stack handles the needs of the product and is flexible enough to scale as requirements change and usage increases.
- Understand technical architectures, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans, and other issues and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges.
- Communicate cross-functionality and provide constructive feedback into how the product is designed and help craft solutions to difficult user experience and system integrations problems.
- Hold technical discussions within organization and have strategic influence.
- Drive engineering efforts.
- Balance the need to "keep things running" with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects.
- Mentor engineers on team.
- Recruit and hire engineers.
- Play a critical role in helping to set the goals and direction for team.
- May telecommute from anywhere in the US.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and 24 months of experience in job offered or in a related occupation. Foreign degree equivalent accepted.
Experience must include 24 months involving the following: - 1. Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
- 2. Data architecture
- 3. Writing SQL statements
- 4. Programming in Python, Perl, or Java
- 5. Driving the vision for BI and Data Warehousing across a product vertical, and defining and executing on a plan to achieve that vision
- 6. Managing delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations
- 7. Driving data quality across the product vertical
- 8. Driving the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production.
Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
