Graphic Design Manager

We are looking for a seasoned, creative leader to join the Brand and Performance team within our Marketing division as a Graphic Design Manager. In this role, the Graphic Design Manager will work to steer our creative vision while promoting customer satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for designing strategically led creative communication. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in either an ad agency or fast-paced creative department where they have demonstrated the ability to design, develop and execute creative initiatives across a wide range of marketing disciplines. The Graphic Design Manager will own brand design and spearhead the production and delivery of marketing assets. As the primary brand steward, the Graphic Design Manager will be responsible for producing assets like web graphics, infographics, ads, social media graphics, sales enablement material, and PowerPoint design. This individual should be adept at strategic thinking, problem-solving, have a delivery mindset, clear communication skills, and the ability to collaborate. As part of the Brand and Performance Marketing Team, this individual will act as a creative leader and will require collaboration cross functionally throughout the organization.

The Team: The Brand and Performance Marketing team incorporates brand strategy and experience, creative delivery, go-to-market content, paid media, and website and digital strategy. We're entrusted with devising, producing, introducing, and refining superior GTM strategies from branding through to demand generation. Our ultimate goal is to establish athenahealth as the most esteemed and sought-after entity in our category, committed to our vision, and ever-mindful of our diverse audience needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Concept and implement design solutions that support our overall marketing strategy

  • Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all design mediums

  • Help streamline design requests – work with creative PMs to help prioritize and delegate tasks to help ensure efficiencies within design team

  • Create and maintain work systems, processes, and policies that support the graphic design function, marketing team, and athenahealth’s overall business goals

  • Drive the development of our creative vision

  • Manage team of designers and help craft and grow their career paths

  • Work directly with Creative Director on creative solutions across the organization

  • Support executive messaging through presentation/deck design (Strong powerpoint design skills are necessary)

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience as a graphic designer in fast-paced creative department Must have and include an online portfolio showcasing relevant skills with a submitted application

  • Experience managing and mentoring designers

  • Excellent graphic design and project management skills, an understanding of print and digital communication, and the ability to convey complex messaging in engaging, easy to understand visuals.

  • Strong skills and proficiency in Adobe design programs

  • Experience in both web and print design

  • Expert understanding of design fundamentals

  • Superior time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated leadership qualities
