DevOps Engineer (Remote)

Job brief

The ideal candidate will guide DevOps teams on speed of delivery, improving quality/security of code, and optimizing processes.

Job Level: Full-Time/Remote

Location: Barbados

Key Responsibilities

• Mentors and coaches the technical team.
• Constantly looking for better ways of solving technical problems and
  designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo.
• Provides the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices for higher code quality Identifies bottlenecks in coding development and deployment processes.
• Leads planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects.
• Executes on plan by building coding standardizations and automating processes for the organization.
• Leads knowledge growth effort of platform configuration management and troubleshooting Leads DevOps team in delivering
  consistent and holistic solution to the organization
• Collaborates with the rest of DevOps team to deliver consistent and holistic solution to the organization.
• Excellent coding and scripting skills (Bash, Per) and experience with
  implementing high scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS) .

Requirements

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cluster management tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with containers such as Docker, OpenShift and continuous integration and related tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Ant, Git, Sonar, etc.
• Experience in Agile Development, with specific Solution Architect (or
  similar) experience preferred.
• Experience as a DevOps or SRE Lead on a cross functional agile team.
• Excited about trying new solutions outside standard approved.
• Embraces a culture of trust, free thought complete transparency.
• Brave and rebellious, willing to challenge status quo.
