The Job:

2U is seeking a Digital Marketing professional who has a passion for making a difference. Our students have a diverse background, from working professionals to recent college graduates who seek to transition into careers in Digital Marketing. Teaching Assistants will have a direct hand in changing the lives of our students.

This is a fully remote, part-time position that would service Monash University in Australia.

Teaching Assistants help instructors to lead classroom discussions, emphasize the meta-skills and core concepts, support students in their projects and challenges, and provide feedback to students. You don't have to have a ton of experience with teaching! You just have to be a lifelong learner, proven teacher or mentor, or love to help people change their lives to succeed.

What You Will Do:

  • Create an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students
  • Explain complex topics to individuals with both a technical and non-technical background
  • Ensure you are bringing the learning experience to life, building community and enhancing relevance through drawing on your own industry experience
  • Infuse empathy, support, encouragement, and fun into the students' learning progression
  • Assist the Instructor with class time management
  • Observe the class during code activities and projects to assist students (via Zoom)
  • Research and answer student questions
  • Grade homework and group project assignments when applicable

Skills & Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of Digital Marketing experience (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Completion of background check with satisfactory results, determined at edX’s discretion, is required
  • Must have a laptop, camera, and reliable internet access
    • One additional monitor, microphone / headset are highly recommended
  • UPS device is required

Familiarity with the following:

  • Marketing Strategy - Brand Strategy, Brand Building, Marketing Metrics, Marketing Optimization, Product/Market Fit
  • Digital Advertising - Google Keyword Planner, Google Ads, and Display Advertising
  • Web Analytics and Design - Search Engine Optimization, Google Analytics, A/B Testing, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress
  • Content Marketing - Social Media Analytics, Social Media Platforms, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Content
  • Email Marketing & CRM Software - CRMs like Salesforce, Reporting and dashboarding software like Tableau

Logistics:

  • 18-week program (this is a part-time commitment)
  • Class Schedule: M/T/TH
  • Class Times: 9:00am - 1:15pm SAST (includes office hours and break)
  • Classes are taught live online and if chosen you must be able to commit to the full 18 week duration of the program.

Hourly salary only: In South Africa, the anticipated hourly salary for this role is R165/hr. The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
