Job Purpose

The Director, Hosptial Client Reporting is responsible for managing the Med-Metrix revenue cycle reporting and analytics communication & standardization. They will be responsible for monitoring accounts receivable data and the related processes that contribute to the successful operations of Med-Metrix, and translating that information into useful data for leadership and clients. The candidate must be able to work at a detailed level while maintaining the big picture of the overall leadership directives, serving to support Directors and VPs in their client relationships. Other responsibilities include compiling comprehensive reports for clients, data mining and analysis, and providing oversight for the team’s day-to-day operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the business analytics and communication including management of team personnel and coordination with revenue cycle leadership
  • Responsible for creating a strategy for the standardization & scalability of business analytic communication and owning the quality control of client presentations and materials. Compile comprehensive and accurate client facing reports on a timely basis.
  • Engage with our revenue cycle project leaders to understand our business processes and to develop reporting and analytics to monitor and communicate on performance
  • Review best practice benchmarks for revenue cycle performance and create structures to communicate project performance against these standards.
  • Design & automate recurring daily/weekly/month reports and dashboards to address and support key business functions and initiatives.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of client specific data, including payer mix, insurance and financial classes, patient access system details, data timing issues, and other issues of specific importance to each client
  • Query and analyze client data to find/understand trends and their financial impact
  • Drive standard turnaround time & structure to support operations with ad hoc analysis & identify opportunity to automate where applicable.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other team members to develop solutions as needed.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of industry and technology trends and utilize this knowledge to drive innovation in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Assess data infrastructure for areas of opportunity to expand our data request to incorporate additional revenue cycle metrics.
  • Analyze and solve problems quickly and thoroughly
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting, Healthcare or Business Administration
  • Five to seven years of experience in revenue cycle and analytics within the healthcare industry.
  • Five to seven years in a management role
  • Strong working knowledge of Access and Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, pivot charts, pivot formulas.
  • Functional knowledge of databases and SQL, preferred
  • Experience working with customer support
  • A thorough understanding of best practices for efficiently working with very large data sets in Excel
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance practices regarding reimbursement methodologies
  • Strong communication skills/oral and written as well as presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills including project management
