Virta Health is on a mission to transform care of metabolic disease and reverse the type 2 diabetes epidemic. Current treatment approaches aren’t working—over half of US adults have either type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and nearly 70 percent of US adults are overweight. Virta is changing this by helping people improve their metabolic health through innovations in technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery reinvented from the ground up. We have raised over $350 million from top-tier investors, and partner with the largest health plans, employers, and government organizations to help their employees and members restore their health and live diabetes-free. Join us on our mission to reverse diabetes in 100M people.
We are recruiting an organized innovator, who will drive clinical initiatives across Virta. We are looking for a cross functional leader who can influence broadly, improving the care we provide to our patients and the outcomes we deliver to our clients.
This leader will have three main areas of responsibility:
The primary domain of responsibility will be spearheading clinical initiatives in collaboration with Virta’s team of clinicians and coaches to advance clinical and business impact. Besides the core delivery of healthcare services, the Virta Medical Group (VMG) must drive improvements in care delivery and innovation that allow for scale, assure quality, and deliver clinical outcomes. Invariably, these initiatives require cross functional collaboration. This role will lead initiatives, manage that cross-functional collaboration, and measure impact.
A secondary responsibility (may) include leading a sophisticated key opinion leader program to develop relationships with clinical and scientific influencers across metabolic health and cardiovascular disease.
This leader will also be expected to see a small panel of Virta patients (0.1 FTE).
Although the role will be primary focused on internal Virta activities, this leader will be expected to interface directly with clinical and operational leaders among our clients and prospect organizations. As such, excellent communication skills and the ability to serve as a voice of Virta is essential.
Direct reports may include a manager of medical affairs (for KOL activities) and also potentially teams of full-time RNs who are responsible for Clinical Intake Calls and also for working on the clinical aspects of initiative work.
This role would be a member of the Clinical Leadership Team, reporting to the CMO and working closely with the lead clinicians and the head of the clinical admin team, as well as cross functionally across Virta.
