As Director of Marketing for Flatiron School, you’ll lead our marketing team and report to the Chief Executive Officer. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will focus on telling the Flatiron School story through paid, owned and earned channels, including our own blog, social media, and media. You’ll lead a small but strong team of marketing professionals to spread the Flatiron School story far and wide, in a growing category and at a time of meaningful growth for our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive awareness and demand for Flatiron School via advertising, content and communications initiatives
- Work closely with the core leadership team to evolve the Flatiron School story and disseminate that story to our audience of customers, prospects, and industry influencers
- Develop an editorial strategy and calendar that includes owned and earned channels, and align the resources to execute against that strategy
- Lead SEO Strategy to deliver month-over-month non-paid growth
- Generate opportunities for coverage and inclusion in reports, lists, etc. by building relationships with media, analysts and other thought leaders in the education space
- Continue to position Flatiron School as a leader in transformative education by elevating our students and customers and sharing their wins
- Develop the strategy and lead the execution for all paid marketing channels
- Grow and improve performance across paid media channels through optimization efforts and regular development and implementation of creative ideas
- Manage and deploy a strategic media plan aimed at driving scale while maintaining target efficiency
- Help define the future company narrative as our category (and our company) continues to grow and evolve
- Own regular, clear communication of marketing performance and progress against goals in a cross-functional setting
- Nurture and mentor direct reports and content team members to maximize their potential and further develop them as content marketers
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or a related field
- Experience leading and growing high performance, cross-functional teams, but also excited to roll your sleeves up to dive into the work.
- Detailed knowledge of digital marketing, SEM strategies, and SEO platforms, tools, in the B2C and/or B2B landscape.
- Proven track record successfully managing a multi-million dollar acquisition budget and taking a company through an intensive growth period.
- Highly analytical: Data-driven mindset coupled with the ability to effectively communicate and present to senior executives.
- Exceptional storytelling and writing skills (work samples required)
- Proven ability to attract and develop talented marketing and communications professionals
- Demonstrated ability to understand and succinctly communicate the capabilities and benefits of an education product or technology-enabled service offering
- Strategic prioritizer and decision maker to effectively balance long term business goals with short term needs.

Expected Compensation:
- $120K-$150K
