In just two years, Whizz has grown rapidly, managing a fleet of 2,500 e-bikes primarily in New York and New Jersey, achieving a remarkable 250% year-over-year growth rate. Our mission is to serve an underserved audience of gig workers, aiming to manage the largest electric two-wheeler fleet in the US. Our dynamic team of 90 people is expanding quickly.
Mission of the Role
The Head of Finance will establish and lead a finance department that underpins the company’s rapid growth with operational excellence and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Reliable Financial Processes: Develop and implement effective, transparent, and reliable financial processes, including day-to-day operations, accounting, internal/external reporting, budgeting, and analytics.
- Develop Financial Modeling and Forecasting: Create and maintain accurate financial models and forecasts to support the planning of new products, geographical expansion, and strategic hypotheses.
- Improve Budgeting and Cash Flow Management: Ensure cost-efficiency and financial control, enhance transparency, and maintain precision in daily spending while supporting the company's active growth.
- Collaborate on Fundraising Initiatives: Partner with the CEO to attract additional capital for growth, both in equity and debt. Continuously seek the best financing options available in the market.
Requirements

- Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably in a high-growth startup in the US.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in the US.
- Ability to build and lead a high-performing finance team.
- Readiness to work in a high-growth startup, which means the ability to build processes from scratch, not just maintain existing ones.
