This role requires a visionary leader who can champion the value story of the Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) business segment into actionable market strategy. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in competitive analysis, strategic planning, go-to-market strategy, and a passion for utility infrastructure. This position builds consensus across all levels of the organization in order to: inform business decisions and strategy, identify new market opportunities, provide a clear and compelling story to rally internal and external audiences, accelerate demand generation, and commercialize with excellence.
A Day In The Life
- Partner on market strategy development for the Utility Solutions segment, composite brands & business units, market vertical solutions, capabilities, and product lines to enhance Hubbell’s brand equity and positioning in the global market as a leader in utility infrastructure solutions.
- Align with Hubbell Utility Solutions’ strategic business unit, sales, and strategy leadership to identify and execute market priorities for the Utility Solutions business segment globally across all market verticals and offerings.
- Collaborate with business unit and product teams as a strategic business partner. Develop and implement comprehensive market strategies that align with business strategies, product roadmaps, and market trends & drivers. Deliver market insights to inform business plans and strategies. Develop compelling positioning to the market(s) for business capabilities, solutions, and strategic direction.
- Collaborate with strategy and market vertical leadership to align positioning with the Utility Solutions business segment strategy and market vertical strategies.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Marketing on planning, prioritization, and execution of full spectrum marketing functions to meet the needs of the Utility Solutions business segment and all of its subparts. Establish key priorities that are clearly aligned with internal stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Deliver market data and insights to continually inform and adapt strategies to evolving market environments. Identify and develop strategic thought leadership to communicate to the market(s).

What will help you thrive in this role?
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or similar degree. MS / MBA preferred with concentration on B2B strategy, marketing, or a related field.
- 10 years of direct / indirect leadership experience in the areas of B2B market strategy, market intelligence, product marketing, and/or product management. 5 years of direct management experience.
- 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure markets with a demonstrated understanding of grid automation, revenue metering, T&D infrastructure, communications, and water & gas utility markets both in infrastructure components and their use case applications.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong collaboration skills and commitment to interdisciplinary thinking – ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of Hubbell and competitor products and services in the utility industry.
- Proven leadership skills, including the stature and self-confidence associated with direct and indirect leadership, and the ability to associate with all levels of internal and external audiences.
- Advanced negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills (presentation, written and oral) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of audiences internally and externally.
- Solid planning, priority setting and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive presentation skills, and adept at developing relationships across diverse teams.
- Strong business acumen.
