Remote Recruitment is hiring a Document Controller for a UK employer, fully remote from South Africa.
Role overview
You will be the single source of truth for project and company documentation: naming, versioning, issuing and archiving so nobody works from the wrong drawing or the wrong revision. It suits someone precise who dislikes ambiguity.
You will work 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST) from home, with equipment guidance, a proper induction and a manager who is contactable through the day. This is a permanent role, not a short contract.
Key responsibilities
Maintain the document register and control all revisions
Issue documents to internal teams and external parties on schedule
Enforce naming, numbering and filing conventions
Track approvals and keep a clean audit trail
Archive superseded documents and manage retention
Support audits with complete, retrievable records
What you'll need
Two or more years in document control, records or project administration
Experience with a document system such as SharePoint, Aconex or Viewpoint
Strong attention to version detail and naming discipline
Clear written English for issuing and chasing approvals
Reliable home internet and a quiet space for UK-hours work
Nice to have
Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
Experience in construction, engineering or energy projects
Familiarity with CAD drawing registers
