What You Will Be Doing:
We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team within the Consumer Product Group, overseeing the development of key features and infrastructure for both our web and mobile platforms. The products you’ll manage include the Coinbase retail app, advanced trade, dapps, and staking—all aimed at becoming the #1 self-custody wallet in the market.
Lead a team of full-stack engineers, guiding the development of features, services, and infrastructure across multiple platforms.
Coach and mentor your direct reports, supporting their career growth and driving a positive impact within the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership—to translate the product vision into a clear, actionable roadmap.
Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and lead the iterative design and implementation process.
Be a technical thought leader, contributing to architecture decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering excellence.
Ensure the successful delivery and operation of multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale, working closely with both product and engineering teams.
Recruit and build a team of exceptional engineers, partnering with our talent organization to identify individuals aligned with our culture and goals.
Take ownership of processes that drive engineering quality and ensure that engineering SLAs are consistently met.
What We Look for in You:
7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years of engineering management experience.
Highly desirable: Strong experience with Go, as well as a solid background in software engineering, capable of contributing to architectural decisions and code reviews.
Proven experience in leading teams that deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure services across web and mobile platforms.
Expertise in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
A deep understanding of what constitutes high-quality code and engineering processes, with the ability to foster a culture that emphasizes both.
A mindset that balances long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning to deliver impactful results.
Hands-on technical skills—you’re capable of writing/reviewing code, leading incident response, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges.
