ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Director will play a pivotal role within Accela's FP&A team, overseeing the financial performance of key business segments across our global operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues within the Finance department and partner cross-functionally with leaders across the organization. Through in-depth analysis and reporting, you will support data-driven decision-making to enhance Accela’s strategic objectives.

As Finance Director, you will work closely with budget owners to ensure the company meets its financial targets, driving both revenue growth and profitability while maintaining cost control. You will be instrumental in empowering Finance leadership and the executive team with the critical insights and financial information necessary to guide the company’s direction.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the annual budget, monthly & quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes
  • Design and refine detailed financial models that forecast and analyze functional costs in order to fully understand sources of variances and to improve forecast accuracy
  • Prepare internal and external monthly & quarterly management reporting, analyze financial results, assess risks and opportunities, and communicate key messages to senior management
  • Own and maintain Workday Adaptive to ensure data is always accurate and up-to-date
  • Build and maintain relationship with cross-functional teams to synthesize and integrate updates
  • Support executive management by providing timely ad hoc reporting on critical issues
  • Become embedded with business partners across the company, establishing relationships of trust and gaining a deep understanding of relevant drivers
  • Actively seek, participate in, and/or drive the development and implementation of Corporate FP&A process improvements
  • Support monthly close processes, including in-depth variance analysis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a quantitative field; MBA preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in FP&A, Big 4 Accounting, or private equity
  • In-depth experience with Adaptive and working knowledge of NetSuite
  • An individual who possesses outstanding analytical skills and proven ability to simplify large amounts of data into an actionable form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience developing and delivering presentations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in 3 statement financial modeling
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously and under tight timelines; flexibility to adjust on the fly to new demands; self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced unstructured environment
  • Experience working with large datasets, automation, or business intelligence skills
  • Use of Power BI or other data manipulation and visualization tools a plus
  • Unwavering ethical standards

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Software or SaaS company experience strongly preferred

COMPENSATION AND WELL-BEING

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $185,000. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus target. This is a discretionary bonus awarded based on company and individual goal achievement.
