Founding Product Lead, Accounts and Cards
Remote · UAE contract · UK hours overlap required · Fintech / Super App
We are building a unified financial platform: one account, every asset class, one experience. Trading, investing, crypto, and everyday spending combined into a single coherent system instead of five disconnected products.
The Accounts and Cards domain is the foundation everything else runs on. It defines where user funds live, how money moves across the system, and whether this platform becomes part of a user's daily life or just another tool they open once a week.
We are not building a card product. We are building the behavioral loop that makes the entire platform sticky.
You are sitting at the intersection of payments infrastructure, regulated financial accounts, and consumer UX. You have to make all three feel simple to the end user.
The system moves money across multiple asset classes with different latency models (real-time card spend, T+2 equities, on-chain crypto)
The regulatory environment is multi-region and constantly shifting
The UX has to feel like a neobank but sit on top of institutional-grade infrastructure
You are not the only product leader here. You need to build coherently with crypto, trading, and investing squads without losing domain ownership
Account structure and balance layer: how users hold funds across asset classes
Wallet and liquidity infrastructure: how money moves in, out, and across the platform
Card experience: spend behavior, portfolio-linked funding, daily engagement loops
Deposits, withdrawals, and transfers: reliability, speed, and UX simplicity
Onboarding into the financial layer: activation, first funding, first transaction
You own this end-to-end. Strategy, discovery, requirements, delivery, metrics. Not just the roadmap.
Users fund their account and keep assets inside the platform (not just passing through)
Card becomes a daily touchpoint, not an occasional feature
Money movement across the system is fast, reliable, and invisible to the user
Activation and funding rates improve quarter over quarter with clear causal attribution
A role where product strategy gets handed to you
A mature team with defined processes. You will help define them.
A single-market, single-product environment
A company where "Head of Product" means managing a backlog
UAE-based remote contract
Competitive performance-linked compensation
Market-standard benefits
30-min screening call
Strategic product case: how you think about systems and trade-offs
Leadership and fit interview with CEO and CTO

Requirements
Required
8+ years in product, with meaningful time in fintech, payments, banking, or adjacent domains
Direct experience owning at least one of: core banking / wallet infrastructure, card products, payment flows at scale
Ability to operate at system level — you understand APIs, transaction flows, and event-driven architecture well enough to make good product decisions and challenge engineering assumptions
Track record of owning outcomes, not features: activation rates, funding rates, transaction volumes — not just shipped features
High autonomy: you define the problem, not just solve the one handed to you
Strong signal
Experience at a multi-product fintech platform (Nubank, Revolut, Wise, Mercado Pago, Neon, C6, or equivalent)
Experience navigating multi-region regulatory environments
Built or scaled a card product with real engagement metrics behind it
Sumara Technology is building a unified financial platform that consolidates trading, investing, crypto, and everyday spending into a single coherent system. The platform integrates multiple asset classes—stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and traditional banking services—with a focus on seamless money movement and user engagement. Rather than offering disconnected products, Sumara aims to create a cohesive experience where users can manage their entire financial life in one place, combining neobank-style UX with institutional-grade infrastructure. The company is structured around interconnected domains including accounts and cards, investments, crypto, and trading, with product leaders responsible for end-to-end ownership of strategy, discovery, and metrics.
