The SFS landscape is a complex environment that will probably take some time to get used to. You will be given the space to find your way around it. Team 6 will be happy to help you with this. In addition, there is a regular construction meeting with the screen teams, because we work on the same applications with four teams. This keeps us on our toes and we learn a lot from each other. In short, there is a lot of interaction with other SFS employees, but also with our environment.
Background Assignment
SFS (Studiefinanciering Systeem) is looking for a full-stack developer with clear frontend experience in Angular, because there is a lot of frontend work ready. Do you like a complex application landscape, do you like building screens in Angular and do you also like to contribute to the backend (Java)?
Team 6 works on customer and employee screens, letters and the various backend systems that go with them. The screens are used annually by millions of students, parents and debtors to consult and change their data. Many DUO employees also work with the systems on a daily basis.
Team 6 is one of four teams at SFS that deals with Customer and Employee Interaction (the K&MI cluster). This cluster develops and maintains around 10 SFS applications, at both the beginning and the end of the chain. The screens are not only about applying for, granting and repaying student finance, but also about all kinds of other regulations for education students. Such as the lifelong learning credit, collection of tuition fees and the student finance scheme for students in the Caribbean (BES islands).
At SFS, in addition to maintenance, there is also a lot to innovate. Due to new policy from politics and there is also attention for improving our service to customers/employees. When screen changes are made, we ensure that old Knockout screens are cleaned up and replaced by Angular screens. Entirely new functionality is also built. In both cases, the screens are designed in collaboration with a UX designer.
