Job Description
The General Manager (GM) of Education will be responsible for developing and scaling the strategy for SAGED, our accredited online learning offering to healthcare professionals, with a focus on becoming the #1 destination for alternative health information to drive awareness, adoption and engagement within the medical community. This role requires a deep understanding on how to develop and scale online learning (or comparable subscription SaaS) platforms, cutting across all aspects of the business, including team management, finance, marketing, platform content, tech, and operations.
Commercial Growth and Leadership:
- Own the P&L for the platform, ensuring rapid profitable growth and sound financial management.
- Build and manage a team, and collaborate with other parts of the business for content and insights, as well as commercial opportunities within the group
- Define go-to-market strategies, including pricing models, subscription tiers, communication, content, customer segments and engagement.
- Build and lead a high-performing team by providing clear leadership, direction and support to employees, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Set clear and ambitious team OKRs and KPIs in relation to key success drivers, and take swift and decisive action in case of underperformance.
Educational Content Strategy:
- Create relevant accredited online courses that are up-to-date, engaging and frequently refreshed in line with the developments in the local and global alternative health industry.
- Build and execute a comprehensive educational strategy for healthcare professionals and industry stakeholders.
- Develop content and curriculum that aligns with industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and the evolving needs of the sector.
Marketing and Product Strategy:
- Define an effective marketing mix to acquire and retain users on the platform to achieve sustainable commercial success.
- Work closely with the product and technology teams to ensure the education platform is user-friendly, scalable, and aligned with market demands.
- Define effective user learning journeys by customising the learning management software and overlaying CRM flows.
- Ensure a world-class customer experience by delivering seamless onboarding, training, and ongoing support throughout the learning journey.
- Drive innovation in the educational delivery model, including exploring new technologies such as AI, and interactive content, and explore opportunities for integration with third-party tools and platforms to add value to the platform offering.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Provide feedback on educational content based on user engagement, analytics, cohort analysis and market trends.
- Utilise data and analytics to inform decision-making and optimise platform performance, including customer engagement, user retention, and sales efficiency.
- Implement KPI tracking and reporting to monitor progress against business objectives and identify areas for improvement.
- Leverage customer feedback to continuously improve the platform and meet evolving needs.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement:
- Serve as the thought leader for educational initiatives within the industry.
- Build and manage a community of engaged medical professionals, and collaborate to enable broader awareness and understanding of alternative health therapies within the wider medical community.
- Represent the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events to promote our educational offerings and grow the company's brand.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, academic institutions, other education providers, regulators, and industry partners.
Qualifications
- Background in scaling and operating a fast growing online learning or comparable subscription-based SaaS platform in a leadership role is essential.
- Deep understanding of content based platform offerings that require customised user journeys and community building is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience in fast growth and fast pace environments that require a significant level of independence and self-drive.
- Strong commercial background with an analytical mindset and proven track record of driving sustainable revenue growth.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a passion for innovation and growth.
