The Mission

Join our dynamic team at Caylent as a Human Resources (HR) Generalist. We seek a talented professional with 3-5 years of HR experience to lead our People operations in the Canadian region. As an HR Generalist at Caylent, you will be critical in nurturing our team’s morale and ensuring our culture and values are consistently upheld. You will be the go-to resource for employees, offering support across a wide range of HR functions while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices.

Your Assignment

Culture & Team Morale:

    • Foster a positive work environment that reflects Caylent’s culture and core values.
    • Monitor and enhance employee morale through regular surveys and feedback mechanisms, providing actionable insights to improve the employee experience.

Employee Relations & Support:

    • Serve as your region's primary point of contact for daily employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Address and resolve complex, specialized, and sensitive employee issues, collaborating with legal and management teams as needed.
    • Oversee and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring a fair and compliant process.

Benefits & Compensation:

    • Manage company benefits, leave policies, and compensation programs for your region.
    • Collaborate with payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payment to contractors and employees, addressing payroll-related questions from employees, particularly in Canada.
    • Act as the primary contact for benefits-related inquiries in your region, such as medical options, meal vouchers, and enrollment procedures.

Compliance & Policy Management:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Regularly review and update company policies and practices to maintain legal compliance and align with best practices.
    • Assist with immigration and visa-related inquiries and processes.

Learning & Development:

    • Collaborate on and support learning and development initiatives to foster employee growth and enhance team capabilities.
    • Own and improve the onboarding and offboarding processes, gathering feedback to ensure continuous efficiency and employee experience improvement.

HR Trends & Best Practices:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Proactively introduce innovative HR practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of the HR function.

Additional Duties:

    • May be required to handle routine tasks in sensitive situations, such as providing reasonable accommodations and investigating allegations of wrongdoing.

Your Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of HR experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly desired.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment-related laws and regulations.

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is CAD 71,000 - CAD 88,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
