As a Backstage Platform Developer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring the success of their platform integration and delivery. In this role, you will bring a strategic mindset and technical expertise to help clients adopt and extend Backstage. You will be responsible for communicating with external customers, guiding them through challenges, and ensuring the technical vision aligns with business goals. Having a balance of high-level and tactical thinking is essential, as you will collaborate with both clients and internal teams to resolve issues and innovate.

As a Backstage Platform Developer, you will lead and coach others in implementing solutions that adhere to best practices while troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Job responsibilities
- Champion Backstage best practices by guiding clients in building and extending their platforms using clean, reusable code.
- Lead and participate in the software delivery lifecycle, from platform ideation to production support.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement solutions that meet client needs while navigating constraints and making pragmatic trade-offs.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues related to container deployments, cloud environments, and platform configurations, even when information is limited.
- Support external clients, providing guidance on platform setup and customization.
- Leverage your knowledge of Kubernetes pod lifecycle, ingress/egress, and cloud deployments to assist in resolving support tickets and ensuring smooth platform operation.
- Work with modern tools and technologies such as TypeScript, containers, and cloud services to ensure seamless deployment and operation.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment, encouraging growth and continuous learning.
Job qualifications
Technical Skills
- You have experience with Backstage, including platform customization and plugin development (primarily in TypeScript).
- You are proficient in troubleshooting and debugging issues related to cloud deployments, containers, and platform configurations.
- You have experience with Kubernetes pod lifecycle and configuration, as well as cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Bonus points for knowledge of database configuration, such as modifying RDS parameter groups.

- You can translate technical challenges into clear business needs and solutions.
