Job Description

DocMe360 is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead WordPress Developer to oversee the development and management of WordPress projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of WordPress developers, configuration analyst and designers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of the VAs WordPress-based applications. This position requires extensive experience in WordPress development as well as strong leadership skills. This role may be filled using a 1099, contract-to-hire, or W2 candidate. All applicants must be United States Citizens residing in the United States of America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of WordPress developers, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Architect and implement custom WordPress solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers and clients to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Optimize WordPress sites for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews and testing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in WordPress development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress performance and functionality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with custom theme and plugin development.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress security practices and optimization techniques.
  • Experience leading and managing a development team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for coding and a commitment to staying updated on industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs.
