Position Summary
LanguageLine is seeking a Marketing Technical Writer with a strong background in both technical communication and marketing to join our team. This role requires an individual who is adept at creating structured, clear, and effective documentation and marketing materials from scratch, often in situations where little to no prior documentation or version control exists. The ideal candidate will have the ability to simplify complex product features for a non-technical audience, ensuring that all documentation supports our marketing efforts effectively. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer service teams to ensure our documentation meets the needs of our users and aligns with company standards.
You will be a strong communicator comfortable working with a variety of tools, people, and processes to ensure high-quality, up-to-date materials are always available for the sales team and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation for a variety of products, including user manuals, installation guides, and FAQ pages.
Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation requirements, revise, and edit, and determine the best solution for centralized storage.
Collaborate with product teams to gain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
Write easy-to-understand user interface text and online help
Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users' understanding.
Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salary for this role is listed below. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. Experience and education refers to LanguageLine Solutions’ current salary range for this position. US (Remote) pay range is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 USD annually and California (Remote) pay range is $66,560.00 - $75,000.00 USD annually
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience working in a technical writing position (3+ years preferred) ideally within a marketing context.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and other documentation tools.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
Familiarity with the SDLC and software development. Experience working with Confluence, Jira and within an Agile development environment is a plus.
Experience with technical documentation software tools, such as MadCap Flare, Adobe Framemaker, or similar.
Experience working with CMS systems is a plus. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or Kentico for centralized content creation, management, and distribution is a plus.
Experience with graphic design, video editing, or web development is a plus.
