Medical Writer – Solid Organ Transplantation Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Writer with a strong background in medical communications, education, and affairs to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solid organ transplantation, particularly lung and kidney transplantation, and experience engaging with transplantation experts in the surgical community. This role requires a native English speaker with at least 4 years of experience working in medical education agency environments.
As a Medical Writer, you will play a key role in developing high-quality content for internal and external-facing materials and events, ensuring scientific accuracy and effective communication tailored to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit a wide range of medical communications materials, including but not limited to:
- Slide decks, training modules, and educational resources
- Content for advisory boards, symposia, and congresses
- Internal briefing documents and external-facing publications
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, client services, and subject matter experts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and scientific rigor.
- Engage with transplantation experts, particularly within the surgical community, to gather insights and incorporate their perspectives into content development.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in solid organ transplantation, with a focus on lung and kidney transplantation, to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge, evidence-based materials.
- Adapt complex scientific information into clear, concise, and impactful messaging tailored to various audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide strategic input on content planning and execution to meet client needs and project goals.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Native English speaker with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in medical education agency environments.
- Proven expertise in medical communications, medical education, and medical affairs.
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in content development for both internal and external-facing materials and events.
- Specialized knowledge and experience in solid organ transplantation, with a focus on lung and kidney transplantation.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with transplantation experts, particularly in the surgical community.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in life sciences, medicine, or a related field
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance guidelines in medical communications.
- Proficiency in using medical writing tools and platforms.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Position is a remote role that can be based out of the UK or Italy. Please note you will need RTW in either of these locations.
