The Sander for Neck Mill will work exclusively in the sanding pre/post paint production process. The Sander will be responsible for the sanding and semi-finishing of electric guitar bodies. Sanding will be done in an up/down motion and counterclockwise motion; more specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for manually sanding guitars, quality control of production, make very minor corrections to irregularities and cleanup of immediate work area.

Essential Functions:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills so that effective is feedback is provided to Supervisor.
  • Contributes to department/unit teamwork, adapts to change and fast working environment
  • Ability to develop and/or implement new and improved ways of doing work. Makes suggestions to supervisor that could improve departmental effectiveness and better accomplish work goals.
  • Sanding skills, woodworking and finishing skills
  • Equipment Used: Metal Carts, Work Bench, cloth towels, air sander, sandpaper, air hoses, and dust face mask, power sander, air spray gun, air sander, sandpaper, wool pad, scotch brite, cloth, air hoses, and other paint and sanding supplies.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6 months – 1-year related experience and/or training, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Communicates and works well with others
  • Good hand dexterity
  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Basic knowledge of the correct use of hand power tools
  • Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.
  • SUCCESSFUL Candidate MUST PASS E-Verify document/background check

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.
