Job Description

Leidos is looking for an individual to lead our operations team to develop, design, and optimize the IT systems of one of our more important customers: The Army Corps of Engineers. In this role, you will direct and conduct analysis, selection, and modification of enterprise IT systems and lead your team as they work through the application, systems, and administration of network hardware/software and database management. You will provide the direction and oversight to protect the customer's data, tools, and information systems. Central to this role is ensuring that the customer's infrastructure and architecture standards meet DoD and regulatory compliance while maximizing availability and security demands in today's competitive cyber environment. You will lead the team in developing new products, processes, standards, and operational plans supporting the Corps of Engineers. You will assist in developing and maintaining budget accountability for the execution of operations. Your leadership will be essential in solving the problems and issues faced by our customers. It will require constant and flat communication with parties within and outside your area of operations. Finally, you will manage a large team of experienced professionals who are experts in their assignments. You will build, train, develop, and reward this team, providing them with ample opportunities for professional growth and ensuring that Leidos maintains the best and most talented IT professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of IT service and projects from engineering to operations and shall be the service owner for all end-user and customer-facing IT services and solutions and ensures end-to-end delivery of services based on Government-approved ITSM processes consistent with industry best practices.
  • Responsible for recommending and then providing the overall technical operations of the program (customer), evaluating, selecting, and implementing computing and communications hardware and software products
  • Consult with and advising senior leaders on technology issues requisite to the needs of the business and implementing and maintaining reliable and cost- effective computer and communications technologies that support customer requirements.
  • Lead the analysis, planning and implementation of ITSM initiatives in support of USACE operations and ensure its alignment with industry best practices and ITIL approaches.
  • Identify IT operational requirements, provide day-to-day leadership and quality control, and provide expertise on best practices to continually improve the USACE implementation of ITIL practices with the goal of exceeding performance objectives and reducing costs and schedule.
  • Serves as the patch and device configuration lead, ensuring that all USACE-supported devices and systems are configured and have installed, the latest patches to meet all cybersecurity and operational requirements.
  • Drive change through the delivery of cross matrixed organizations.
  • Evaluate and communicate strategy, operational health, and incident action plans to executive leadership.
  • Manage SLAs, OLAs and KPIs via service management tools.
  • Demonstrate the quality assurance, risk management, and security considerations and their impact on overall technology environment.
  • Deliver strong process management and problem resolution skills
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations.
  • Provide strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand. business terms
  • Conducts performance management activities for direct reports.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 10 years’ relevant experience.
  • 7 years experience leading teams or projects.
  • , scope, and complexity to the requirements of the USACE IT environment
  • ITIL® Foundations
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Must have an active DoD TS with SCI eligible security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing the device configuration and patch management for an enterprise operation of a similar size, scope and complexity.
  • 4+ years of experience managing service desk teams supporting the requirement that are similar in size, scope, and complexity to this customers environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in communicating with Government personnel, including agency executives.
  • ITIL ® Expert Level Certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
